Our Program

Our goal here at Canyon Edge is to provide healthy puppies that have incredible temperaments for every family’s needs. Whether that’s a companion,  family dog,  service dog, therapy dog,  emotional support animal, or a sporting dog, we will help you find exactly what you’re looking for and help match you with the puppy that is the best fit for you!

All our breeding dogs are FULLY health tested by GRCA standards. They all have a full Golden Retriever genetic panel, OFA hips, elbows, cardiac, eyes, and patella as well as an additional hip testing called PennHIP. We have extremely high standards when it comes to health testing and will only breed a dog that has better than average health testing for the breed. 

We recently started titling all our breeding dogs. Titles are given to dogs by organizations such as the AKC when they meet certain standards or goals. The letters in a dogs title represent the accomplishments they and their owner have achieved. We are constantly working towards new titles with our dogs to prove their temperaments, trainability, improvement of the breed, etc.

Our puppies are raised in our home with Puppy Culture curriculum, Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Scent Introduction. 

When our puppies are 7 weeks old, we do what’s called Volhard Temperament Evaluations. This helps us to match puppies to families based on their individual temperaments and not on how cute the puppy is or what color they are. We think temperament is one of the most important things to consider when bringing home a new puppy!
